Share My Spot

Project Overview

Structube had the idea for a campaign called 'Share My Spot'. The idea behind the campaign was to cause social interaction and have people share their homes with the hashtag #sharemyspot. Before the campaign was fully formed, I had come up with the idea for a place for this social media content to live.

I created a space where users posts get placed around a room; Sharing their spot lands them a place in our spot. To do this, I created an interactive environment where social media posts make up the canvas of the furniture. This involved integrating instagram, twitter, and facebook APIs and then throwing the content into Three.js/WebGL. I also used GSAP TweenMax to tween the zooming/navigation to give a smooth ride.

In the end, the project took a different direction and was turned into solely Youtube videos and blog posts within our Lookbook.

I created a non-social version for proof of concept, as loading the posts takes quite a long time. Previously I supplied both versions here, but due to Instagram's need to approve apps to remove Sandbox Mode, the Instagram API (where the majority of the social results came from) is now off limits. I have therefore only provided the non-social version below
